Misty Johnston
Executive Director
I’m Misty Johnston, the Executive Director at the MCFRC. My family and I have lived in the mountain communities since 2005. My husband Jeff and I share two children, two bonus children, and three grandchildren.
Many of you may know me because I have been serving our community in different ways for almost 20 years. I have been on staff at the Frazier Mountain Community Church (FMCC) since 2005 and currently serve as the Executive Pastor. FMCC has hosted community dinners, trunk-or-treat, free clothing giveaways, Worship in the Park, and much more! I also served on the El Tejon Unified School District Board of Trustees from 2014 to 2022.
I first came to the MCFRC in 2019 as a member of the volunteer Board of Directors, where I served as Vice-Chair and then Chair. In November 2022, I left the board when I was offered an opportunity to work for the MCFRC as an Advocate and Project Specialist. In August 2023, I humbly stepped into the role of Executive Director with the desire to continue to grow and strengthen the programs and services offered by the MCFRC.
As you can see from my extensive background, I am firmly rooted and invested in our community. This is my home! This is where my children and grandchildren live, work, and attend school. It is where I am planted and have a heart to serve.

In September 2020, I joined the MCFRC team where I have thrived! While I do a little bit of everything around here, my focus is on our seniors - or as I call them, my silver gems! I continually strive to provide quality service to all, while building genuine relationships in our community.

Maria Acevedo
Bilingual Family Advocate
Hello! I am Maria Acevedo, the Bilingual Family Advocate at the MCFRC. I was born into a large family and raised here in Frazier Park by Spanish-speaking parents. Most of the community knows us as the Silva family. I am a family-oriented, proud mother and wife.
I began working at the MCFRC in March of 2022. One of my greatest strengths is that I am a people person. As a bilingual Advocate, I am able to assist and build relationships with both our English and Spanish-speaking communities. While I help everyone, my main focus is on families with children 0-5. On Tuesdays, you can find me at the El Tejon School.

Hola hola! Soy Maria Acevedo la Bilingual Family Advocate en el MCFRC. Naci en una familia numerosa y me crei que en Frazier Park con padres que hablaban puro español. La mayor parte de la comunidad nos conose como la Familia Silva. Soy mama y esposa y muy orientada a la familia.
Empece a trabajar en el MCFRC en Marzo del 2022. Una de mis mayores fortalezas es que soy una persona muy sociable. Como entrenadora familiar puedo establecer relaciones con nuestra comunidad que hablan ingles y espanol. Igual manera me encanta ayudar a todos pero, mi enfoque principal esta en las familias con niños 0-5 años. Los martes me pueden encontrar en la escuela de El-Tejon.

Bilingual Adult & Senior Advocate
Hey! I’m Claudia Cuba and I am the Bilingual Adult & Senior Advocate at the MCFRC. I started here in March of 22’ with the goal of using my knowledge and life experience to meet the needs of our community. My background includes caregiving, health, and education.
I believe community endeavors and support are important to the overall well-being of families and individuals alike. While my role here is multifaceted, my focus on our senior population is essential. I strive to make lasting and fruitful connections with everyone, but more importantly our aging population. Hola, soy Claudia Cuba y soy la Representante Bilingue de Adultos y Personas Mayores en el MCFRC. Comencé aquí en Marzo del 22' con la meta de usar mi conocimiento y experiencia para satisfacer las necesidades de nuestra comunidad. Mi trayectoria incluye el servicio asistencial, la salud y la educación.
Creo que los esfuerzos y el apoyo de la comunidad son importantes para el bienestar general tanto de las familias como de los individuos. Aunque mi papel aquí es multidimensional, es esencial centrarme en nuestra población de personas mayores. Jessica Hernandez
Family Advocate
I’m Jessica Hernandez, the Family Advocate here at the MCFRC. I am a long-time community member, who is deeply invested in our town. As a busy mom of three active boys, I understand the importance of family support. My role as Family Advocate allows me to empower other families with resources and tools to maintain a strong family unit.
With a background in education, I am better equipped with the skills to provide support services such as Family Success Coaching.
