Connecting our community members to sustainable services that support health and nutrition is vital. We seek to accomplish this by providing resources such as our food pantry, DHS applications, food referrals, dental referrals, prescription assistance, transportation assistance, and addiction recovery resources.
Food Assistance
Our in-office food pantry is available to all residents in the mountain communities. The pantry food varies from fresh fruits, veggies, breads, frozen meats, and canned foods. Every box is different, and whenever possible we will strive to accommodate clients’ dietary needs and preferences. A client can also receive a Market Gift Voucher that can be used at our local markets. On top of these resources, our Advocates can provide information for Commodities, Senior Sack, and other food banks.
Medi-Cal and Denti-Cal
If you're eligible to apply for Medi-Cal, applications are ready to be completed in office. Our Advocates can assist with filling them out and sending them in the same day. If you are already on Medi-Cal, we can print off lists of providers specific to services covered such as doctors, dentists, and vision.
Medicare Insurance
If you are looking for guidance around Medicare and getting signed up, give our Senior Advocate a call today. She can connect you with knowledgeable people who can assist you in getting started.
Prescription Assistance
If you are struggling to pay for a month of your prescriptions, we have funding to assist individuals and families. If you want to learn about ways to save on your prescriptions, call our Advocates today and learn more about discount programs.
Transportation Assistance
Courtesy of the Southwest Healthcare District, the MCFRC provides bus tickets for those who need to get to appointments, jobs, the grocery store, and other places that support one’s health, safety, and wellness. These tickets come with the phone number to dial-a-ride, the bus schedule, and anything else helpful to your trip.
Smoking and Addiction Resources
For those who are looking for help with addiction or want to quit smoking, our Advocates can connect you with resources. We can connect you to a 24/7 hotline designed for those seeking treatment for substance use disorder. In addition to these resources, our staff can connect community members with local support groups like NA and AA.
