Our 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Credentials and Collaborative Efforts
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit was established in 2011 as the Mountain Communities Family Resource Center, Inc. It is a separate entity with its own Board Members. Its purpose is to provide support to the Mtn. Comm. Family Resource Center (FRC) whose doors opened in 1999 as a community organization. The nonprofit provides support through grant writing and fundraising annually for additional funding sources for the FRC and its many programs. The Nonprofit typically does not offer programs, but leaves services to the established FRC with its experienced staff. Many foundations require a 501 (c)(3) status to apply for grants and this has opened more doors for more support.
The MCFRC, Inc. illustrates its transparency and is a Gold Member of GuideStar which is a nonprofit organization that has created a database to post nonprofit organizations’ financial reports and profile on the World Wide Web. MCFRC's profile is available for review.
Currently, the nonprofit is in partnership with several organizations to provide additional services and resources to our community through the established family resource center in Frazier Park:
MyC3 Youth Leadership Conference Fundraiser, MCCASA Coalition, Senior citizen referral and resource program with support from the Southwest Healthcare District, Dance scholarship and Performance Team programs with the In the Wings Studio of Dance. We are currently in a partnership with Prevent Child Abuse California and the AmeriCorps volunteers to serve our community. AmeriCorps members are here to provide support to and case manage families with children ages 6-17. AmeriCorps is a national service organization devoted to stimulating volunteer service to strengthen communities across the United States. AmeriCorps members receive on-the-job training and professional development while servicing our community.
There are several ways to donate to the nonprofit to help us continue to improve the community and provide resources for families. Be sure the “Click” on our Donate button to see the options.
